Ironically, our December student of the month is a very warm hearted person. One who thrives to be hardworking and aspirational for himself and his peers. Introducing… (drum roll)… EDDIE JIMENEZ. Jimenez is a senior here at Kilgore High School, and if you haven’t gotten the chance to meet him, you better hurry up, only three months until graduation! Jimenez is someone who knows to be proud of the achievements he has gathered throughout his years, he understands the balance between being humble and taking pride in yourself when you have worked hard.

   “I am most proud of all my accomplishments, the teams I have been a part of, and that my family has been able to see it all,” said Jimenez.

   You may be wondering where he learned this wonderful work ethic. What, or who, has lent him a helping hand when he has felt lost and needed to know which direction to take. Well only from the most impactful person in his life of course!

   “The most influential person in my life is my dad because he has shown me the value of hard work and dedication,” Jimenez said. “Guiding and giving me advice throughout my whole high school career and keeping me focused on all the important things in life.”

   His dad is certainly not the only important person in his life, Jimenez cherishes family to a very high degree. Many of the things he does with his life have to do with his love for his family.

   “I liked volunteering in the FFA’s Little Dog Day because I got to see my little brother with his classmates and how their faces lit up when they saw him with me.” Jimenez said.

   After high school, Jimenez still plans to bring his diligent attitude into adult life as well. He has a plan to major in mechanical engineering in college. He wishes for a stable job that pays well and provides. And though our school will miss him, we, at the MIRROR, cannot wait to see what he accomplishes.
