It’s not just a hobby for the players of the Kilgore High School Soccer Team its part of who they are as people. Each player is hardworking maintenance good grades to be able to play and are some of the best people you will ever meet. The team has a history of being great reaching the quarter finals for playoffs last year unfortunately taking a loss against Nevada Community. And the year before that reaching the semi finals against La Vernia. This year they are hoping to make it to the end and giving it everything they got with. Currently they have a record of 14-0-1.
Sophomore Adan Requena said “so far my favorite game has been against Pine Tree,” Requena said.
“Im looking forward to winning state this year,” Requena said.
“I enjoy saucing people up when playing,” Requena said.
“I look forward to improving my shots whether its during games or practice” Requena said
“Coach P’s training and advice has helped me succeed the most this season,” Requena said
Sophomore Jacob Herrera said “The Game against Pine Tree is my favorite because it was fun and the fans were loud,” Herrera said
“Im looking forward to playing in the playoffs” Herrera said
“The thing I love most about soccer is my passion and dedication towards the game,” Herrera said
“I look forward to taking players on and trying to score as much as I can,” Herrera said
“My teammate Ruben Rodriguez has helped me the most on my journey to become a better soccer player,” Herrera said
“The thing i despise the most when i play soccer is getting scored on in,” Herrera said
Junior Jordy Velasquez said “Honestly all of the games have been my favorite. We only get a limited amount of games and every one of them are special,” Velasquez said
“I’m looking forward to hopefully winning the State Title if it’s in God’s plan,” Velasquez said
“i enjoy playing the sport that I’ve grown up on and how I meet new people and the friendships and connections I get to experience,” Velasquez said
“I’m looking to improve my leadership and confidence this season,” Velasquez said
“Everyone has helped me to grow as a soccer player even when i was down or up they all helped me to improve,” Velasquez said
“There’s nothing to dislike about soccer. I feel like it’s a blessing to be able to play and have the health to play.” Velasquez said
So make sure to come support the boys soccer team the best in East Texas and looking forward to being the best in the state. Currently the varsity has only lost to Center but are looking forward to getting their revenge for district Championship. But with such a good team and good players individually i doubt that will be a problem to face so don’t doubt and say Lets go Bulldogs!!
