Class Meetings were introduced to the KHS student body for the first time,

On August 22 and August 23, 2023, the administrators and grade levels met together. Some students questioned why this happened at all. Mrs. Square has the answer.

“I believe that having individual grade level meetings are beneficial not only for the students but also for the staff members who attend. The meetings provide opportunities for everyone to HEAR the same information that is being shared out as well as provide opportunities for students to ask questions, to gain clarity, to understand rules and their responsibilities, and to see the campus leadership team,” said Assistant Principal Karla Square.

Additionally, these meetings give the leadership team the opportunity to see the students collectively,”  said Square.

“I learned how much this cares about us students and I think all the questions for this school year were answered at the meeting”, said Junior Emilee Pierce.

The meetings helped connect the students with the administrators more this year by having the meetings. The students now know what their expectations are of how they expect students to act and the students also know their expectations for this upcoming school year.

“I learned that the rules have slightly changed since last year and I believe that having the meeting helped answer all the questions I had for this upcoming year,” said Junior Karen Maldonado.  The meeting was a great way to explain to all the students how some things changed over summer break. Having the meeting was a great source of information for everyone, including all staff at Kilgore.
