Into the Woods to be performed Nov. 2-4

The Kilgore High School theater department will be putting on “Into the Woods,” this Friday and Saturday at 7:00 pm and Sunday at 3:00 pm.

“I believe the play will go well,” theater teacher Sally Wooddell said. “I know the students will give it their all to put on a good show.”

The cast would say that the general feel for the performance is a mixture of excitement and nervousness.

“I think we’re all pretty excited about the play,” senior Brandon Fugler said. “We’ve worked hard, and I’m very happy with the way it turned out.”

The cast and crew have been practicing for this performance since September.

“I’m nervous for opening night but I trust that we can pull it together,” sophomore Rachel Bowman.

Not all performances are the same, every night has a different energy and vibe to it leading the actors and actresses to accommodate to that.

“I’m definitely a little nervous for opening night,” freshman and assistant stage director Carly Mauldin said. “But we’ll figure it out. I don’t think you can ever be fully prepared for a performance. Something will always come up or go wrong, but we have some really talented people in theater so I know we will get through it and do a good job.”

For seniors, this will be their last fall play. For freshman, this is only the beginning.

“We are excited to see our hard work being performed! As it comes to a close I know we will be sad it is ending.”
