The Health Science Club is a new group on campus sponsored by Cheyenne Kirkpatrick and Whitney Compton.
“My goal for this year is to establish an annual 5k event to promote community-wide health and fitness and to encourage health science students to make a strong impact in the community and try to get a group going,” Kirkpatrick said.
The first meeting for the new club was Thurs., Sept. 14 at 7:30 a.m. in Room 103. Students who are currently taking a health science class or who have completed at least one year of health science may join.
“I’m really excited for this year as this club can make a strong impact in the school,” Kirkpatrick said.
This is the first time that the health science program will have a club.
“I think it’s a good that we get to have this kind of opportunity but I’m just upset that it opened my senior year,” senior Jazmin Fryxell said. “[I am] glad I have the opportunity to do more with health science.”
The next meeting for the health science club will be held in the auditorium Thursday.
