Serving this season off a platter, the 2024-2025 Tennis team currently has three victories under their belt and three defeats. With the team having seven seniors this year, their devotion and strong will is needed to ensure victory. We interviewed some of the seniors, as well as the coach to get their thoughts on this ongoing season.
Tennis coach Jayson Maroney is working very hard to come up with a practice plan every day while battling the new UIL Regulation Heat Rules.
“ We are limited this season due to the new UIL heat guidelines.” Maroney said.
What are your thoughts on the new heat regulations this fall?
“It’s interesting,” Senior Patrick Riley said.
What that being said, how do yall adapt to those regulations?
“ We are doing some of our conditioning indoors. If we are outside hitting, we are just trying to get in as much as we can during our allowed time.” Maroney said.
With the tennis season in full swing, what are your goals on the court this fall? “To win” Senior Lily Chowdhury said.
While tennis is a quiet sport who do you think represents what it means to be a Kilgore Bulldog?
“ I’d rather not just pick one. We have a lot of kids in our program, who work hard in practice, take care of businesses in the classroom, and are good teammates.” Maroney said.
