We recently had our first pep rally of the season. The theme was “Go for Gold”. The bulldogs played the Carthage Bulldogs. There were performances by the Hi-Steppers, Cheerleaders, Band, and the brand new Hype Squad. There were introductions to the Freshman football team, JV football team, Varsity Volleyball team, and Varsity Football captains.
The StuCo games involved hopping in a potato sack to a hula-hoop, diving into the hula-hoop, trying to get a ping pong ball to fit inside a toilet paper roll, and then hopping across ladders. This was repeated four times as there were four students from each class participating. The winning class was the Seniors, with Juniors in second place, and Freshman in third place.
Freshman Ella Kent was asked the following questions:
This is your first pep rally, how do high school pep rallies compare to middle school prep rallies?
A: “High school is way better, a lot more entertaining, and I feel like the band gets to do more.”
Did the pep rally make you excited for the upcoming game and season? If so, why? If not, why?
A: “Yes, because it was really fun and exciting. Everyone was hyped up.”
Senior Heavenly Pastor was asked the following questions:
This was your last first pep rally of your high school career, how does this make you feel?
A: “It’s kinda sad, honestly, because I don’t get to do any pep rallies anymore.”
Are you more prideful about Kilgore, knowing it’s your last year as a bulldog?
A: “I mean yeah, but I’m kind of happy about it.”
The next pep rally was Friday, September 1st as we go against Gilmer, turning our Bulldog pride into magic as the theme was Disney.
