Behind The Scenes: Prom Committee prepares for the big event
The prom committee is working extra hard planning the 2023 Prom.
“We have been working on party favors and food for the prom,” junior Xsavier Ortiz said.
The 2023 prom theme is Hollywood.
“Hollywood is a theme where we’re able to be creative with concepts like changing the way we do awards,” Xsavier Ortiz said.
Voting for Prom King and Queen will happen after Spring Break.
“I really like our prom theme this year. I feel like it’s elegant and classy,” junior Rylee Moore said.
Tickets will begin to go on sale to juniors and seniors on April 3, 2023 in room 119 (Mrs. Miller’s room). Tickets will be $25 each. The 2023 Prom will take place on April 29 at Maude Cobb Convention Center in Longview. Prom will begin at 8:30 p.m. and will last until midnight.
The prom committee had several meetings leading up to the announcement of the theme of prom.
“I enjoy being a prom committee officer and looking at the ideas that bloom into what we are bringing into this year’s prom,” Ortiz said.
The prom committee is a memorable place in a junior’s heart.
“I enjoy being a part of the prom committee. I am the type of person who enjoys planning things and then being able to see how they turned out,” Moore said.
The process of picking the prom theme took most of the fall semester.
“I helped come up with our prom theme. My group won. I have also come up with a few ideas for decorations and party favors,” Moore said.
The prom committee will continue to work hard until prom is over to make it a fun event for the seniors.
“We hope that they have a magical night in Hollywood,” Prom sponsor Amy Bates said.
