Senior Jayden Jones is hard at work while applying a coat of paint to the newspaper pumpkin.

With the fall season starting, several people will begin decorating and carving pumpkins. Here at KHS, the student council is hosting their third annual pumpkin decorating contest. Because the contest is open to all clubs and organizations, we will be seeing several festive pumpkins this season.

Students have full creative reign over designing and decorating their pumpkins. They can choose to carve or paint their pumpkins as well as what the theme will be. Many different ideas will be present, giving diversity and character to the competition.

The pumpkins will be due to the library on Tuesday, October 25th. In the past, students voted for the pumpkins through Google forms while last year, the community voted on the pumpkins at the Fall Festival. Either of these could possibly be one of the ways voting is done this year.

Be on the lookout for the finished products and be sure to cast your vote on your favorite pumpkin!
