The boys soccer team recently participated against Palenstine in the quarterfinals on April 1 at Tyler Rose Stadium. The Kilgore boys won with a score of 3-1 in penalties.

The second round of playoffs was on March 29. The game was held at Pine Tree Stadium in Longview with Kilgore as the home team and Cumberland as the away team. The Kilgore boys won with a score of 3 – 0.

“A feeling of accomplishment and relief rushed through my mind,” Junior Ricardo Cedillo said. “We as a team felt motivated to do better and keep progressing. The team knows that with every game we win, we are one step closer to our goal.”

The first round of playoffs was on March 24 at Lufkin Hudson against Madisonville. The Kilgore boys won with a score of 3 – 0.

“I felt amazing that we won the first round,” Junior Diego Rojas said. “It’s a different experience winning a playoff game than winning a regular game.”

The semi-finals will be on Friday, April 8  against Celina. The game will be played at Tyler Mother Francis Rose Stadium starting at 11 a.m. There will also be another game the following day if Kilgore wins Friday that will be against Chapel Hill or Community at 11 a.m.

KHS is offering all students a chance to attend the soccer game via a school-sponsored trip this Friday. All students have been emailed a permission form that is due April 6 at Noon.
