On Jan. 11 Excellent TEEN Choice and Kilgore High School joined together to create the Grim Reaper Project. The project represented the death of teenagers ever 18 minutes. The causes of deaths ranged from bullying to drunk driving. Every 18 minutes, they will randomly select a student to “die”. The student that was chosen would have to wear a mask, a sign that says how they died, and wouldn’t be able to interact with anyone or get on social media. Later that day, they had assembly for freshman and sophomore and discussed the causes of death. The talked about the effects of STDs, impaired driving such as DWI, teen suicide caused by bullying.

This program educated the students and helped them be aware. It brings awareness to these causes of death and shows the long term affects of it. With this program, KHS hopes this gets students to become conscious and well-informed.
