Bulldogs sink Pine Tree Pirates

On September 1, the Varsity football team kicked off the season with a great win with a score of 35-21 against Nacogdoches.

“I thought it was an important win for us and I expect a lot out of our youngins’ this year because they are going to be the ones to help us accomplish our dreams,” senior Buddy Jackson said.

On September 8 the Dogs played their first away game at Gladewater and successfully took another win with a score of 33-21.

“During halftime Coach Wood motivated us to persevere in the 2nd quarter,” junior Daniel Sifford said.

The Dogs trailed behind by 21-0 in the first half but bounced back and brought home a victory.

“We are going undefeated this season and nobody is stopping us,” senior Isaiah Smith said.

The boys took another win at the homecoming game against Pine Tree with a score of 64-28.

“I feel like it was a great game and that we accomplished  a lot accomplished,” senior McKinnon White said.

It has been exactly 27 years since the Pine Tree Pirates have defeated the Bulldogs.

Come out to support the team and show your Bulldog spirit tonight at R.E. St. John Stadium at 7:30 p.m. against Texas High.
