As the temperature drops, us Texans are not used to this type of weather. We wake up half expecting it to be snowing because of how cold it is outside, and hoping for it to be a snow day. But with everyone having a different perspective what does Kilgore think of this cold front?
“I don’t really know, I would say I guess excited and hopeful for snow,” Senior Breaunna Wall said. “But it’s Texas so we don’t get a lot of that.”
With it being so chilly outside what you wear matters because you don’t want to be cold so make sure you bundle up with things like jackets, scarfs, and hats. When the cold weather leaves and the warm weather rolls in you can change from bundled to breathable.
“I think the easiest weather to dress for is summer because you have more options to choose from, from tank tops to shorts.” sophomore Jovi Porter said
Who doesn’t like summer? The warm sun on your skin. With it being so cold outside it’s hard to think about summer, some people spend their time daydreaming about that amazing tan, that walk on the beach, and other things that remind them of summer.
“I like the hot weather better,” junior Christina Lumley said. “I like it better because I can stay warm and I am able to do more things when it is warm outside. I also like the warm weather better because I am a summer baby and I am used to the heat.”
Even if you don’t like the cold you have to admit that the snow can be very fun with so many different activities to do. The best part is doing all these activities with your best friends and family and having some bonding time with those you love.
“My favorite thing to do is either stay inside with hot chocolate and movies or go outside and do the typical activities with snow,” senior Delaina Bodine said.
The most important thing to do is keep warm which you can do by layering warm clothes and try to stay near heat as much as possible. But the best way and the tastiest way to warm up is with a big cup of hot chocolate.
“When it gets cold I make sure to have warm clothes, turn the heater on and try to keep warm,” sophomore Addison Murphy said.
So which one is better: summer or winter? Well that all depends on your personal preference, would you rather the sun warming your skin or the chill are nipping at your skin. Either way both seasons have their pros and cons.
