“Welcome to the Outer Banks! The Outer Banks. Paradise on earth.” Even though its first episode aired in April 2020, the show is still going strong. With the fourth season already here as of October 10, the Outer Banks is Netflix’s number one show going on four weeks now.
When thinking of the previous seasons of the show adventurous, daring, and teenage baggage might come come up, but season four offers us a glimpse at what can happen when you do follow something to the fullest. This is shown as they build “Poguelandia 2.0,” Where they all live and work at a tackle and bait shop that they built.
“It’s a lot different from the previous seasons with them running their own store,” freshman Seth Rhodes said.
When you try and think of the best scene from the new season, it would be hard to choose from because there are many scenes of thrillers, terror, and low points that you wouldn’t really expect to happen and it keeps you on your toes just trying to anticipate what’s gonna happen next!.
“When the Pogues and Kooks are at the beach and a turtle hatching is happening and Kiara is helping the turtles to the sea,” junior Langston Donath said. “Topper’s girlfriend runs one over, so she starts planning the revenge that the Kooks deserve.”
When you think of characters that give the show its name you might be thinking of John B, JJ, Sarah, Kiara, Pope, and Cleo, but what makes them an important piece to this show? Could it be John B’s Charismatic Leadership or Sarah’s ability to see the best in others? Could it also be Pope’s Brains as said by John B “ He is the brains of the operation.” or Kiara’s passion to Pogues and when she finds a passion it becomes apart of her.? It could also be Cleo’s fearlessness to almost anything or “JJ’s unpredictableness” Senior Tanner Beets said.
When you think of division in the show you can tell very clearly that it is between the Pogues and the Kooks. The reason they are divided is because the Kooks are wealthy, but they flaunt their wealth and that is why the Pogues despise them. They have to work to make a living while the rich pay people to do things for them.
“They come from different backgrounds and have nothing in common,” sophomore Addison Murphy said. “The way they can end the feud is by stopping the hate on each other for their flaws.”
When you think about which group you belong to, you could belong to one side or the other or you could belong to both. Whichever side you put yourself on there are many positive and negatives.
“ I would be a Pogue because I love to go adventures and treasure hunts,” junior Tre’ Hutchinson said.
To bring it all together, regardless if you think your a Pogue or a Kook we can all agree that fans of the show still have a high expectation for the rest of season 4.
