Boys Soccer Pursue & Prepare for the Title

Boys varsity soccer has had a winning streak of 11-0 all throughout district. Bulldogs had their district opener on Jan. 27, at R.E Saint John Stadium with a win of 2-0 against Carthage.

“I’m very excited about this season because I know the team has the ability to do great things,” senior Anthony Salinas said.

Following their most recent match against an undefeated team, Sabine; the boys brought home a win of 4-0. They have been playing and working hard.

“I’m going to make the most of this season by giving my all each game and practice leaving no regrets on the field,” senior Josue Rosas said.

As of now, our top scorers of the season are Jacob Contreras with 23 goals, Adan Reyes with 9 goals, and Leandro Yzaguirrre with 11 goals. We also have our top assists with Diego Rojas having 12, Leandro Yzaguirrre with 11, and Jobani Chavez with 7.

This season is looking promisingfor the Bulldogs with all players having the same goal, making it to state.

“My main goal is the same as everyone else’s. We want to make it to the state tournament and hopefully win it,” senior Jaime Baldazo said.

Making it to state is going to be a lot of work but with the right amount of commitment from the boys it’s definitely possible.

“We’re going all the way for that title,” senior Yamir Sanchez said
