Volleyball team hosts banquet
Sunday Dec. 5 was the volleyball banquet for all freshman, JV and Varsity. The banquet was held in the cafeteria, and the volleyball booster club did a wonderful job putting up the decorations. The team is very appreciative of them taking time out of their day to do this for the girls.
“Our 2021 volleyball banquets was sponsored by the Kilgore Volleyball Booster Club and was a great success,” booster club member and Spanish teacher Liz Couch said. “The cafeteria was decorated with Kilgore color balloons, black and white table cloths, centerpieces with volleyball decor, a balloon arch with a Kilgore Volleyball backdrop for photo opportunities, and programs at each seat.”
Each coach gave out 5 awards: bulldogs award, improvement award, most accurate player, etc. Each captain from the teams gave their coaches an award for their determination and to show how thankful the players were to them for dealing with the ups and downs. For each team that was called down, each player was given a paper of thanks to the players for playing. After that, players received their actual awards that was a paper saying what they accomplished and medals.
“We commended our girls for their hard work and accomplishments for the season,” said Mrs. Couch. “It was a wonderful evening of honoring our volleyball teams and coaches.”
Head volleyball coach Harris was delighted to give out awards to her varsity
“Well, let me start by saying that I thought the decorations and organization were great! I felt good about every award handed out and well deserved! Everything flowed and was completed in a timely fashion. I want to say a special thank you to my Booster Club for a job well done,” Harris said.
