Mr. Clements’ Casino

Spanish teach, Mr. Clements is taking a spin on learning by hosting a casino for his students. The catch is that there is a word on every card, written in Spanish. The student must translate the word to English or they lose their card. Clements’ students collect tickets all throughout the school year to use for snacks and to rank up in his feudalism system. These tickets will be the chips typically used in a real casino. The games they will be playing are Poker, Blackjack, and Roulette.

“A kid once asked me if we could gamble in class and I said, ‘no, not unless I can find a way to make it about Spanish,’” Clements said.  “So I thought about it for a bit and found a way to incorporate Spanish into it.”
