Shooting the Hoops: Girls basketball coming in winning
The Lady Dogs start off strong working together as a team and fighting through the obstacles that have come their way. With a many wins and being 11-4 going into district, the girls basketball have been fighting through the start of this season, keeping positive and staying motivated.
“I have a good feeling about district this year,” senior and varsity player Shelby Thompson said. “We have a well seasoned team and we have all the pieces together.”
The girls have been working hard at their practices for the new season. They are dedicating their time and energy into the practices to get better in the games and make successful wins.
“ I feel like we’re doing well because we’re learning to work together and play more as a team, which is making the wins ten times better and the losses not as bad because we’re learning what to fix,” freshman player Kara Teel said.
With the help of their coaches, time and help, they have been making sure they are fully focused and prepared for every game they attend. All three teams are dedicated to give it their all to show the supporters they are willing to fight as a team.
“ We spent a lot of time getting stronger and faster,” Thompson said. “We also focused more on shooting and defense in the pre-season.”
The Lady Dogs are always keeping their heads up high and are making sure they are showing good examples to the KHS students. Even through there may be some rough games, they still make sure to keep a smile on their faces.
“I think we can continue to improve our skills, teamwork and communication throughout the season and make it a great season.” sophomore and junior varsity player Cerinity Exline said.
