Soccer season kicks into action
After three long hard days of soccer tryouts the girls soccer team has been chosen for this years season.
Forty eight girls tried out to be a Kilgore High School Bulldog soccer player and only thirty six made the team.
“We have worked so many hours so far this year to be at the point where we are now,”said senior Sarahi Vallejo. “No matter what gets in our way we will still come fighting with all our hearts.”
The girls are ready for this season and can’t wait to get to know their new teammates they have gained this year.
“I’m so excited to be on this team, the girls that I play with make it so much fun and I couldn’t ask for a different team to be on this year,” junior Sarah Loomis said.
Many of the players have know each other most of their lives and grew up playing the sport together.
“I have known most of my teammates ever since I began going to Kilgore,” junior Sarah Lommis said. “Playing with a talented group of girls, that I have known for so long makes this soccer season so much better and more fun. We have so many new players added to our team and it is exciting to see what fresh moves will be brought to this team.”
They take their love for soccer to a whole new level, practicing for hours after school to improve their game and get better at their skills so they can win and go to State this year.
“We practice everyday from 3:30 to 5:30 to improve on anything that Coach Hagan wants us to practice on to improve our skill on that specific strategy,” sophomore Haley Kawaja said.
The girls make so many memories being on the soccer team. They create bonds that cannot be broken and friendships that can’t break.
“I love the memories I make in soccer, between singing sogs on the bus to having dance battles on the sidelines. There’s nothing better than being with a fun group of girls,” senior captain Ashley Castillo.
