Art club participates in Hispanic Heritage Festival
On Oct. 30 the Art Club painted faces at the Hispanic Heritage Festival, an event held to celebrate Hispanic culture.
“My goal was for the art club members to think quick on their feet while painting faces,” art teacher Holly Harper said. “I wanted them accustomed to the paint media they used because we will have another opportunity for the art club members to paint faces again.”
They also painted some kids’ faces in the spirit of halloween.
“I think my favorite part was being able to be a part of it in general,” junior Jessalyn Schneider said.
Though the Art Club painted many children’s faces, not all of the requested designs directly correlated with the theme of the event.
“I don’t feel that the culture surrounding us at the time impacted what we painted, though we did paint a few Day of the Dead designs,” senior Dequan King said.
