Bulldogs caged the Lions in district rivalry game

Senior Braden Grush blocks a player.

On Friday Oct. 10 the Bulldogs beat their arch rivals Henderson Lions with a score of 45-35.

The game was a close match until the fourth quarter when junior Deiontrae Wheat got a interception guaranteeing the win.

“I was really nervous playing at corner for the first time in a game but I’m glad I locked down on defense and got a interception making sure we came up on top,” Wheat said.

The win was momentous because the Bulldogs have scored a victory over the Lions continuously.

“It is always a little extra special winning over Henderson because of our rivalry, so the constant wins in the past years have been pretty great,” senior Isaiah Smith said.

It is bye-week for the team as they gear up to face Center on Nov. 3.
