MAKING SOME NOISE

Hype Squad cheers at school board meeting

July 27, 2021

They can’t be quiet.

They are noisy.

They jump all over the place.

They wave posters in the air.

And, when they see a Bulldog…they scream and shout.

The KHS Hype Squad started this summer by meeting and making posters, noisemakers, and plans for back to school. On July 26, they introduced themselves,

and their plan to help build school spirit at KHS, to the school board at their meeting.

The Hype Squad is made up of eight students from different grade levels. Members are seniors Ashaw Bailey, Kaileah Pierre, and Teralyn Taylor; junior Danna Requena; and sophomores Sage Orange, Makayla Smith, Elisabeth Carlisle and Trenton Taylor. The sponsors for the group are Lovetta Williams and Amanda Smith.

The initial meeting was on June 28, but there is still time to join.

“If students want to help us create a positive experience at KHS, join now,” Smith said.

The Hype Squad plans to support student groups and athletic groups. They say you CAN sit with them…though they are not sure they will be sitting much.  They are ready to cheer! GO DOGS!
