Homecoming Week events celebrated

Homecoming was an event to remember for many. The event provided memories for all.

Who will forget the great Homecoming Duchess video or even the rained out parade?

Homecoming provides an opportunity for current students
to reconnect with old friends and support their school at the game. Last year’s Homecoming Queen crowns the current queen, and students celebrate their time at KHS.

Each school has its own tradition for celebrating homecoming. Here
we dressed up for the whole week with costumes and spirit colors. Themes included College vs. Pro, Nerd vs. Jock, Rocker vs. Rapper, DC vs. Marvel, and RED OUT. The homecoming week culminates at the game when the Homecoming Court is

presented and queen is announced. On Sep 20, Diamond Smith was

awarded the title of Homecoming Queen.

“I was mostly shocked, but I was also very happy and joyful,” Diamond said.

The princesses were Julia Greene representing Hi-Steppers, Olivia Chalk for Sports Medicine, Jordan Ware for PASS, Lauren Bryant for the Reflector, Dayton McElyea for FFA, and Diamond Smith for Softball.

The presentation and announcement of queen happened on the field before the game against Texas High.

“It feels good and it makes me feel proud to be able to represent the school and my organization so well,” Diamond said. “I did not expect this honor.”
