Q: What made you want to be a teacher?
A: The military inspired me. I taught soldiers there, and I enjoyed it.
Q: Where did you go to school? What were you like as a student?
A: Harmony High School out by Gilmer. I also went to Central Texas College, Lincoln University, Kilgore College, and University of Texas at Tyler. I would say I was very forgetful, but very into the sciences.
Q: What’s your spirit animal?
A: I would say that I’m jealous of dogs.
Q: What was your favorite extracurricular activity you were involved in during high school?
A: My favorite activity was 4H. It was a worldwide organization that was all the clubs together.
Q: What are your hobbies?
A: I like to read, write, listen to music, listen to science podcasts, play video games, and go to the zoo.
Q: Why did you decide to come to Kilgore?
A: I live down the road, and this school looked nice.
Q: Who’s the most influential person in your life?
A: My high school science teacher. She inspired me to major in chemistry.
Q: What’s your favorite part about teaching?
A: I don’t know yet. This is my first year teaching, and it’s only three weeks in.
Q: What’s the first thing you do in the morning?
A: I usually drink caffeine. It’s usually Dr. Pepper, but it’s sometimes coffee.
Q: Describe yourself in four words.
A: Tired, curious, colorblind, nerd.
