Q: What made you want to be a teacher?
A: I thought it would be a good thing to end my professional career with. I wasn’t always a teacher. First, I was an engineer. After that I started my own electrical business. When I retired from that I decided to go back to school to become a teacher.
Q: Where did you go to school?
A: I went to Lamar University on a football scholarship. I got my masters at Southern Methodist University.
Q: What were you like as a student?
A: I wasn’t a very good student. I partied a lot in college.
Q: What was your favorite extracurricular activity you were involved in during high school?
A: Football.
Q: What are your hobbies?
A: I don’t really have any hobbies. I hate golf. I like electrical things. Building and inventing.
Q: Why did you decide to come to Kilgore?
A: I wanted to teach. I had to take off for two years because my daughter got sick. When she got better I decided to come back and this is where I went.
Q: Who’s the most influential person in your life?
A: My parents. I would be nothing without them.
Q: What’s your favorite part about teaching?
A: I love the kids.
Q: What’s the first thing you do in the morning?
A: I make coffee. I fill the bird feeder and I feed the cats.
Q: Describe yourself in four words.
A: The product of a wonderful life.
