Q: What made you want to be a teacher?

A: I always wanted to be a teacher. I remember playing school in fourth grade. I would get a grade book and put all my classmates names in it and give them all grades. I would give bad grades to kids I didn’t like because I was immature. Of course now as a teacher, my goal is to help all students succeed!

Q: Where did you go to school?

A: Kilgore High School. Class of 1994.

Q: What were you like as a student?

A: I was a really good student. I was a nerd. I was a total Orch Dork.

Q: What’s your spirit animal?

A: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

Q: What was your favorite extracurricular activity you were involved in during high school?

A: Orchestra all the way.

Q: What are your hobbies?

A: I play viola in the Longview Symphony, read, and play with my dog, Juliet.

Q: Why did you decide to come to Kilgore?

A: I moved back to Kilgore in 2006. My parents are getting older and I wanted to take care of them. I ended up really liking teaching in Kilgore.

Q: Who’s the most influential person in your life?

A: My parents, because they’re very smart people and they always have my best interests at heart. They have a lot of common sense.

Q: What’s your favorite part about teaching?

A: Getting kids excited about music and developing their love for it.

Q: What’s the first thing you do in the morning?

A: Walk my dog at 5 A.M.

Q: Describe yourself in four words.

A: Smart, diligent, conscientious, caring
