Art class students are starting a new project to improve their art skills.

“It helps the students who make take painting next year, get ready for painting,” art teacher Holly Harper said, “We will be painting Murals around the school when these are done.”

Working on a drawing it’s not as easy as it seems, it requires creativity and dedication. Students experience with new materials for their artwork to create the perfect drawing.

“The purpose of the project is for students to experiment with tempera paint or experiment with India ink,” Harper said. “Either materials need some water to work with. I want the students to use paint to shade with as well. Students can shade with the India ink or they can use the tempera paint and fade it to create shades/shadows.”

For this project, students have high expectations.

“My expectations for my students, are to show strong contrast with either the Ink wash or the Ink on top of the newspaper collage,” Harper said.

Art is a way to let students express themselves through their artwork and get creative.
