The Kilgore boys soccer team is ready for this season. They have been working hard all summer and all off-season.

“This season is going to be better than last season,” senior Brandyn Hinojos said. “We have been working on chemistry and keeping possession of the ball, and I believe we have a good chance of making it far in the playoffs.”

The Dogs are still upset about their loss in the third round of playoffs last year against Palestine, 8-0

“Last year we just played a bad game and lost most of our starting players,” senior Gregorio Alverez said, “however we got everyone back on the team that either quit or got kicked off, so we have a pretty solid line up and we are ready for a rematch against Palestine.”

The Dogs are still preparing for this season trying to get everyone in shape.

“We have been running a lot this off-season, about eight to nine miles a week, so we are all getting in shape,” senior Raul Cedillo said.

The Dogs are just working on the same game plan they had last year and building up on their craft to perfect their game on the field.

“If the season is an indication of their hard work, we will have a good year,” Coach Tom Wait said. “I am very proud of them.”
