On Oct.23 the Orchestra department held their fall concert at the middle school. The concert was Halloween themed and titled a “Hauntcert.” The “Hauntcert” was where orchestra members dressed up to celebrate the Halloween season. The Orchestra members dressed as sumo wrestlers, witches, chickens, vampires , and clowns. They played “This is Halloween,” by Danny Elfman, “Walts of the Wicked,” by Kirt Mosier, and “Fright Night,” by Larry Moore.

“I feel like the community responded positively and parents were pleased,” Orchestra director Shane Almendarez said.

The community responded very well to the performance of the students.

“We’ve worked hard to get them ready and it’s been stressful,” senior Vanessa Zarazua said.

The Halloween music and costumes left the audience in the Halloween spirit.

“I love Halloween costumes and I can’t wait to dress up for the concert,” freshman Carly Mauldin said.
