FHLA prepares for UT Tyler college visit

February 6, 2018

The Future Hispanic Leaders of America (FHLA) club plans to visit the University of Texas at Tyler on February 8. The college tour is only available to the 30 most active members of the club. Points are gained by attending FHLA meetings and events, those points are then added up to determine who gets to go. Visiting the college will help active members of the club idealize what a college will sort of be like.

“I’m excited to be missing school for a day, but i’m more excited to get the chance to see a college in person,” said sophomore Daisy Salazar.

The opportunity will help students gain a little more knowledge in trying to plan out their future and career.

“There will be a college student tour guide to show us around; a point in the tour we will go to the auditorium and they will promote the benefits of  attending their school,”sponsor Julie Haufler said.

After the college tour is completed, they will have lunch at CiCi’s Pizza.
