The KHS Hi-Steppers have been around for years, every year one group leaves and a new set comes along. As this year’s seniors prepare to graduate, they reflect on their years as being part of the team.

Their 4 years as Hi-Steppers have allowed the seniors to establish a strong bond by performing together.

“I love sharing the field and stage with my best friends,” senior Kara McKinnon said.

After performing for 4 years, seniors Alexis Smith and Payton Day deemed dances from their freshmen year as their favorites.

“My favorite is a dance we performed to Rather Be in the Spring Show our my freshman year,” Payton said.

A hip hop we performed at my very first pep rally freshman year is my favorite,” Alexis said.

The things the senior Hi-Steppers will miss the most are definitely the Friday Night Lights and spending time with each other, which they have grown to love.

Although she enjoys all the performances as a Hi-Stepper, McKinnon does claim she gets nervous before each performance.

“I talk with my best friend Rachel Clower because she helps calm my nerves,” Kara said.

Hi-Steppers hold themselves to be one big happy family and the seniors are reluctant their last year is coming towards an end.

It is sad but I am ready for what’s ahead,” Alexis expressed.

The senior Hi-Steppers will take the stage one last time to perform in the Spring Show the following spring.
