Juniors Hailey Brown, Jackson Traywick, Vanessa Zarazua and Destiny Mendez work on their cow eye samples.

In the midst of a unit on the senses, Benjamin Wheatman’s anatomy classes dissected preserved cows’ eyes last Tuesday.

Students in the four classes identified the cornea, retina, sclera, and so on of the eyes before disposing of the samples and filling out a packet of questions about the eye structures and their functions.

This dissection follows an earlier dissection of a pig heart and will be followed up by a test on students’ eye-related lecture notes on Thursday.
