UIL Academics competes in District

March 28, 2018

Nine students will be advancing to compete in Regionals, which will be held at Texas A&M Commerce on April 14. These students participated in District meet held in Spring Hill on March 21.

“I’m proud of the dedication of the students, especially taking their weekend’s up,” computer apps coach Sherry Lockman said. “I so want them to do well at the Regionals. But I know they will have fun.”

Prior to District, UIL participants received the opportunity to compete in several practice meets held across East Texas. These meets were held in  Lindale, Hallsville, and Whitehouse.

“During the practice meets I would compete in News Writing, but I was never confident,” senior Dayana Sanchez. “However, when I competed in Headline Writing during District, I felt better. I ended up placing!”
